Carling Ave was originally a Concession Road that became the March Road, a route to access the towns of March and South March. It seems to have existed as early as 1830, so not too long after the Richmond Road was created.
In June of 1950 it was announced that Carling would be widened to 100′ (4 lane) from Bronson to Oakly in Belltown.

1979 – 2017: The building was probably built in 1979 to house the Alexis Dining Lounge. Alexis opened in 1979 and lasted until 1991.
According to a former Britannia resident Alexis was owned by the same family that had owned the El Toro Restaurant and Pizzeria at Britannia Plaza which seems to have closed about 1979, so perhaps they were “upgrading.”

After Alexis closed the building was occupied by a series of oriental style buffet restaurants, some lasting years, others only months. These included (in not much order):

Tansy Buffet 2004?: Whoops, cited for health violations in 2004. Further, it looks like despite several name changes over the next decade, Tansy remained the parent company as it is under the name Tansy Buffet that the Moonlight Club applies for a Liquor licence in 2013.
